Amerigo Bria

Amerigo V. Bria age 88, a resident of Stamford, CT passed away peacefully on January 4, 2022 surrounded by his loving family at Stamford Hospital. Amerigo was born on 11/17/1933 in Rose Calabria Italy and was the son of Francesco Bria and Rosina Fiorita Bria. He came to the U.S. as a teenager and attended Cloonan Middle School and was a graduate of JM Wright Technical School. Amerigo was also a Korean War Veteran who served his country proudly. For most of his life adult life Amerigo was a Sheet Metal Worker for Stelma Manufacturing and Data Products. Family was everything to Amerigo, he enjoyed spending time with his Grandchildren and family gatherings. He was prideful of his garden and spent many hours making sure he would have the ripest tomatoes. Amerigo enjoyed his daily walks around the neighborhood with his wife Carmela Bria and with that he loved to stop and chat with all his neighbors. One of our many fondest memories was taking a family vacation to Disney World watching "Pa" go down Splash Mountain. Amerigo is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carmela Bria. His children Anna Sandolo (Peppe Sandolo), Elena Fidaleo (Mauro Fidaleo), his grandchildren, Anthony Fidaleo, Mauro Fidaleo Jr. (Erin Fidaleo), Franco Sandolo, Victoria Sandolo (Joe Tucci). He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, brother in laws and a sister in law. Amerigo was predeceased by his parents Franceso and Rosina Bria, brother Anthony Bria and his wife Madeline Bria. Sisters Carmela Castiglione and her husband Ferdinand Castiglione and Rose Pelliccione. Calling hours will be held on Sunday January 9, 2022 at Lacerenza Funeral Home at 8 Schuyler Ave. Stamford, CT from 3:00pm - 7:00pm. Face coverings will be required for entry. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday January 10, 2022 at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave. Stamford CT. Entombment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Greenwich .
