Anthony Cairo

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Anthony (Tony) Cairo Sr., age 72, of Stamford, CT. He passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Greenwich Hospital surrounded by his wife and children by his side. Tony was born on April 10, 1949 in Port Chester, NY, the son of the late Orazio and Emma (DiPalolo) Cairo. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Tony is survived by his beautiful, loving wife of 43 years, Patricia DellaPietro Cairo. In addition to his wife, Tony is survived by his beloved son, Anthony Jr. and his loving wife, Alexa Cairo. He was extremely proud of his son’s career achievements. Tony always took pride and joy in watching his son, Anthony, take the field in whatever sport he played growing up. He always said “he would not miss it for the world”. Tony is also survived by his adored “special baby”, his daughter, Brittany Ann Cairo. With his unconditional love, and devotion, Tony helped her through the many challenges she has endured. Surviving are his sisters; Marie Capocci, Emmy Pennino and her husband Joe. His brother-in-law Dennis DellaPietro and his wife Louise. Along with many nieces, nephews, cousins. Tony was predeceased by his brother John Cairo, his loving, supportive in-laws, Anthony and Viola (Intrieri) DellaPietro and his much loved brother-in-law Anthony R. DellaPietro. He was also predeceased by his beloved Bichon Frise pet “Duke”. A special Thank You to Dr. Marcus Mayus, Dr. Scott Simon, Dr. Barry Boyd and Dr. John Setaro for their care to Tony. We would also like to thank the nursing staff who provided their care during this time as well. Services will be held privately for the immediate family.
