Antonio Mallozzi, 82, a longtime Stamford resident passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on October 23, 2018. He was born on April 23, 1936 in Minturno, Italy to the late Vincenzo and Anna Mallozzi. Antonio immigrated to the United States in 1963. He was self-employed with ABA Builders but retired from DeLuca Construction. He was a longtime member of the Carpenters Local 210 Union. Antonio contributed to the urban revitalization of Stamford and surrounding communities with the building of the Stamford Town Center and several residential homes. Antonio was a devoted husband, loving father, and a doting grandfather. Aside from spending time with family, he enjoyed tending to his vegetable and flower gardens as well as going fishing and playing bocce in his free time. Healso maintained many Italian traditions including making wine and tomato sauce but, he was just as proud on February 25, 2016 when he became a U.S. citizen. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Filomena (D’Acunto) Mallozzi; his five children, Anna Irizarry, Angela Mallozzi, Lisa Zezima and husband Craig, Savina Waldron and husband Paul, and Anthony Mallozzi; two brothers, Benedetto Mallozzi and wife Antoinette, and Ennio Mallozzi and wife Donna; one sister of Lago d'Iseo, Italy , Isa Zanola and husband Rino; eight grandchildren, Jonathan and Anthony Irizarry, Samantha, Sarah and CJ Zezima, Sophia and Andrew Waldron and Ava Mallozzi; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. We would like to offer our sincere gratitude to Drs. Mallozzi, Gulati, and Resor for their compassionate care as well as the Long Ridge Post-Acute Care, Constellation Health Services and Reliable Care, LLC. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 28th from 3 to 7pm at the Lacerenza Funeral Home at 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 29th at 10:30 am at St. Leo’s Church, 24 Roxbury Rd, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien.
