Antonio "Tony" Leone

Antonio “Tony” Leone, 91, a resident of Stamford, CT, passed away on Friday, April 8th, 2022 in Stamford, CT. Antonio was born August 15th, 1930. He was the son of the late Rosaria Petrone and Carlo Leone. He was a Veteran of the Italian Military. Antonio immigrated to the United States in 1965 from Rose, Cosenza, Italy with his “sposa” Giuseppina, who he stayed married to for 64 years, and his two young children. He wanted to provide a better life for his family. Antonio worked for the Town of Greenwich for many years. He was a master gardener, and people would often drive by his house to stop and marvel at his vegetable garden. He was also a master winemaker who made more than he could consume just so he could share with everyone. Nothing brought him more happiness than being surrounded by his friends and family. They were his biggest passion in life. Antonio is survived by wife Giuseppina Leone; daughter Rosaria “Sarina” Bercow and son Carlo Leone and his wife Karen Leone; grandchildren Alexander Leone Bercow, Sophia Rose Bercow, and Samuel Antonio Leone; siblings Teresa Chiappetta, Viola DeRose, Assunta D’Aiello, Franco Leone. Pre-deceased by siblings Anna Fiorita and Lorenzo Leone. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 11:15 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. Entombment will follow St. Mary’s/Putnam Cemetery in Greenwich, CT.
