Assunta De Vita, 92, of Stamford, CT, has passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 17, 2018. Born in Rose, Italy to Lorenzo and Carmela Siciliano, she was the third born of six children. Assunta married Emilio De Vita in 1948 and they immigrated to the United States in 1967. Assunta was a loving spousa, momma, nonna and great nonna. She is survived by her three sons Vincenzo (Cathy) from Stamford, CT, Eugenio (Rose) from Trumbull, CT and Francesco (Carmella) from West Suffield, CT and her grandchildren, Vincent, Jr., Nicholas, Allegra, Emilio, Suzanne, Katrina, Anthony, John, Stephanie, Alexandra. She is also survived by her sisters Ida De Vita and Rose De Vita and her brother Paul Siciliano. She was preceded by her sisters, Gemma Cufone and Angelina Cufone. Assunta was a seamstress with an interior decorator in Stamford for many years and a devote parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in Stamford, CT. Her passions included spending time with la famiglia and paesani, gardening of all kinds especially tomatoes and figs, travelling to Italy, and visiting religious sites. The family will celebrate her life at a gathering on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 5 pm - 9 pm at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 9 AM at Sacred Heart Church.
