Carmella (Nunu) Sabia Macari, wife of the late Frank A. Macari, Sr., entered into the arms of God on July 16th, 2021 on the Feast of our Lady of Mount Carmel. She passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Antonio D. Sabia and Catherine Lucia Sabia. Carmella is survived by her devoted and loving children Frank (Eddyce) Macari, Cathy Macari, Paul (Patty) Macari, and Maryann Macari. She leaves behind her granddaughter Allison, who was her pride and joy. Carmella is also survived by her sister in laws, Dorothy Coletta, Doris Macari, Gail Macari and Josephine Desgro. In addition, she is survived by many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her son Bennett Macari, her brother Dominick (Angelina) Sabia and twin sister Nettie (Joseph) Lombardi. Carmella, a lifelong Stamford resident, was a woman of deep faith attending mass every day. She had a special devotion to Blessed Mother Mary, praying the rosary daily. She worked for the Bell Telephone Company, American Cancer Society, and the John Glover Insurance Agency. Carmella enjoyed nothing more than cooking and baking for her family and friends. She found great pleasure in seeing family around her table. She enjoyed reading a good murder mystery, watching, and following sports. The family would like to give special thanks to Rob Hoffman of the Glover Insurance Agency for his continued friendship over the many years. A special thank you to Dr. Frederick Slogoff and his staff. We are forever grateful. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 24th, 10:00am at St. Bridget of Ireland Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Ave, Stamford, CT 06902. Interment will immediately follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Stamford, CT. There will be no calling hours.
