Carmelo Gentile

Carmelo Gentile, age 92, a resident of Stamford, CT passed away on August 19, 2022, at Stamford Hospital. Carmelo was born on March 2nd, 1930, in Settefrati, Pr. Frosinone. He is the son of Stefano Gentile and Maria Michela Tamburro. Carmelo attended school in Italy as well as served in the Italian Army. Carmelo worked at Norma Hoffman since he came from Italy in 1966 until he retired. He enjoyed making wine and spending time with his children, walking his dog, drinking espresso with his loved ones under the grape vine and having lunch with his nieces. Carmelo was an Usher at Sacred Heart Church, the Italian mass for over 40 years never missed a service. Carmelo is survived by his children, Danny his partner Madeline, Michael his wife Carmella and Domenica, his grandchildren Michael Jr. and Angela. Carmelo is also survived by several nieces, nephews as well as also survived by many people that considered him their dad. Carmelo is predeceased by his wife Angela and his daughter Anna Maria, his brothers Giuseppe Del Carmine, Antonio, Domenico, Agostino Gentile and his sisters Giacinta and Anna. Visitation hours will be on Wednesday, August 24th, 2022, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Lacerenza Funeral Home at 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. The funeral will be on Thursday, August 25th, 2022, at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. The Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 399 North Street, Greenwich, CT.
