Caterina “Cathy” Danna, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully, on August 8th, 2023. Cathy was born on September 9, 1957, to Vincenza Perrone, and the late Armando Perrone. In addition to her mother Vincenza, Cathy is survived by her loving husband Michael; their two sons Michael Jr (Shauna) and Christopher (Rosanna); her newborn grandson, Brayden; her sisters Annette Curto (Michael Jr) and JoAnn Pucci (Rich); her mother-in-law, Frances Danna; her brother-in-law, Patrick Danna; and her sister-in-law, Ninarose Lewko (Edward Jr). She was deeply loved by her nieces and nephews, Amanda Pucci, Christina Curto, Maryssa Lewko (Robert), Michael Curto III, Edward Lewko III, and Richard Pucci Jr (Alexandra).

From being Salutatorian at Mother of God Academy (while working her first job at Bongiorno’s Supermarket) to earning her Bachelor and Master degrees in Accounting, Finance, and Business from Sacred Heart University, Cathy was a hardworking, intelligent woman who found significant joy in her professional endeavors. Cathy worked as a Payroll Manager for 20 years at Pitney Bowes and, most recently, as a Payroll Director for 15 years at Cenveo. Because she

loved interacting with others (and retail-therapy of course!) Cathy found pleasure in her employment at Lord & Taylor and Saks OFF 5th.

In 2011, Cathy was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. With this diagnosis, she never lost sight of what mattered to her most… her family. Whether on the dance floor with her husband or cheering on the New York Rangers with her sons, Cathy loved nothing more than spending time with her loved ones. She was especially ecstatic to hold her newborn grandson and to be a Nana for the first-time.

Cathy was a two-time cancer survivor, a strong and resilient woman, a true inspiration, and a warrior at heart. She found comfort in her Catholic faith, which only grew stronger as time went on. She believed in the power of prayer, always attending Sunday mass at her parish, St. Cecilia’s, and truly embraced the Word of God.

Cathy’s survival story can be seen on the Bennett Cancer Center’s Portrait of Hope Wall, where she states “multiple myeloma made me a stronger person…a different person…more compassionate. Now, I just want to help more people.”

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Bennett Cancer Center in her honor and to help fulfill her wish

to help more people.
