Clara Morici Fay, 91, a resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on December 21, 2020. God bless Clara on her journey home to heaven. Clara was born on December 26, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Stella Kuchinski and John Morici. She graduated from Manual Training High School in 1946. Clara worked at Socony-Exxon Mobil as a statistical typist for ten years. She married Vincent Fay on June 7, 1953 and was an original resident of Stuyvesant Town in Manhattan, New York until 2016. Together they raised four children. Clara enjoyed her time at Stuyvesant Town’s Community Senior Center playing Scrabble with friends, participating in arts and crafts and taking tai chi classes. She was an active member of the Ladies of Charity and the Epiphany Church’s 22 Club where she loved to play bingo and go on trips. Clara volunteered to read to children in the Early Learning Center at Baruch College. Her other passions were swimming year-round at the Asser Levy indoor and outdoor pools, sketching and painting. Clara loved to smile and be around family and friends. Clara is survived by her children Kathleen Fay Echauri (Robert) of Arcadia, CA, Patricia Baranowski (Joseph) of Stamford, CT and Michael Fay (Violet) of Canadensis, PA. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Ryan, Matthew, Kevin, and Sean as well as her niece Jean Winter and cousin Mildred Plunkett. Clara also had a special love for Ally and Annamaria. Clara is predeceased by her husband Vincent F. Fay, her sister Jean Deorato, her son John V. Fay, and grandson David Echauri.
