Dody Emily Green

Dody Emily Pokorny Green, a life-long resident of Springdale passed away peacefully on November 16, 2023. Dody was born on August 3, 1936, in Stamford, the daughter of the late Mildred Edna Dorr Pokorny and Stephen Pokorny.
Dody is survived by her son Raymond Green (wife Corinne) and grandson Steven Green of North Carolina, her dear sister Shirley Retallick, and dozens of nieces and nephews.
Dody was predeceased by her husband Ray Green and her sisters Barbara Elliott, Lois Burton, and brother Stephen Pokorny.
Mrs. Green was a daughter of Daughter’s of the American Revolution and Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
Dody enjoyed her work with the Stamford Hospital Patient Family Advisory Council, the Fairfield Memorial Park Board of Directors, Chair of the USS Connecticut commissioning committee member, Navy League Council, and especially working with the Korean and Vietnam War Veterans.
A private family burial was held at Fairfield Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to LaurelHouse.net towards mental wellness.
