Donata Marie "Minnie" Zezima

Donata Marie “Minnie” Zezima age 94, a resident of Stamford, CT, peacefully passed away on February 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born October 9, 1930, in Stamford, Marie was the daughter of the late Angelo and Donata Lorusso. Marie graduated from Stamford High School and was a homemaker for the first half of her life. She was an active member of the Sacred Heart Church, its Rosary Alter Society and annual Summer Festival. She would later become known as the “donut lady” at Uncle Vinny’s Deli in Old Greenwich, until she retired at 85 years young. She enjoyed holidays with her family, especially Halloween and Christmas, Jai alai and casino visits, game and cooking shows, and above all her silky terrier mix “Sweet Pea” who was the best dog ever.
Marie was predeceased by her husband Anthony Zezima, and her sons Anthony Lawrence Zezima and Lawrence Anthony Zezima, a grandson Anthony Zezima, her sister Carmella and brothers Danny, Tony, Paul, Charlie and Canio, her dear friends Anna, Mary and Chickie and sister-in-law Florence. She is survived by her children Donna Angotta (Tony), Toni Ann Dinella (Vito), Angela Dilallo (Dominick), Mary Zezima-Barsch (Arthur), John Zezima, Vicki Zezima and Tom Zezima, her beloved extended family members Debbie O’Connor, Susan Zezima, Toni Libowitz, and Kim Zezima, and her loving sister-in-law Vicki Zezima Arcuri. Marie is survived by a countless number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, February 21, from 4 – 8 PM at the Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home located at 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford CT. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 22, 10 AM, at Sacred Heart Church located at 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford.
Burial services will be private.
