Elizabeth A. Vaccaro, 58, a resident of Stamford, CT passed away on February 10, 2024, at Stamford Hospital after a short illness.
Elizabeth was born on October 22, 1965, in Manhattan, New York to the late Mario Merola and Tullia Palermo. She graduated in 1987 from Columbia University with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
Elizabeth worked as a chemical engineer at NRG Power Plant in Queens, NY, and Con Edison. She loved the water, going to the beach and history. She enjoyed Bob Marley and 80’s music.
Elizabeth is survived by her two children, Paul Forte and Victoria Forte. Her sister, Mary Lou Zappa and brother, Michael Merola. Cousins, David Zappa, John Mario Zappa, and Angelique Zappa. She is predeceased by here husband, Sullivan Vaccaro.
Elizabeth was a very intellectually talented woman. Her pride and joy were her children. She provided everyone with unconditional love. She was always very easy going.
Calling hours will be held at Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave, Stamford on Saturday, February 17th from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 4:30 p.m.
