It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Flora (Martino) Antonucci of Stamford, CT who peacefully passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Stamford Hospital. She was 90 years old. Flora was born on February 12, 1934, in San Mango Sul Calore, Italy to the late Gerardo and Carmela Martino. At 20 years old Flora set sail to the United States on the Christopher Columbus where she met the love of her life Arduino Antonucci, they settled in Stamford and together built a beautiful life marrying and raising five children. Flora was a resident of Stamford for over 60 years but she always called Italy her home. Flora worked at Pitney Bowes Inc. in Stamford for over 30 years, but her passion was her family. Flora’s door was always open and no one left hungry and they always came back for more. In addition to her parents, Flora was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Arduino, in 2004 and her brother Angelo Raffael Martino, in 2023.
She is survived by her five children: Domenica (Mike) Pepiciello of Norwalk, Ernesto (Sophia) Antonucci of Norwalk, Gaetano Antonucci of Stamford, Antonio (Jamie) Antonucci of Stamford and Marina (Ron) Ferreri of Monroe; six grandchildren: Lauren Ritchie (Rob), Shannon Antonucci, Amanda Raffele (Sal), Annmarie Vigliotti (Cameron), Michael Pepiciello, Danny Antonucci; and 6 great-grandchildren: Siena, Robbie, Lyla, Cora, CJ and Serena. She is also survived by her four sisters, Gaetana DeBlasi, Diamante Coppola, Eufrasia Manna, Onorina Riccardelli and her brother Joseph Martino and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Calling hours will be Friday, December 27, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave, Stamford, CT 06902. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at St. Leo’s Church, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford, CT 06902. She will be laid to rest at Queen of Peace Cemetery, 124 Rockrimmon Road, Stamford, CT. 06903. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
