Gabriella Dimare Cartagena

Gabriella D. Cartagena, born on September 25, 1982, passed away on May 12, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication. Gabriella, known to many as Gabby, was a beacon of light to all who knew her. Her vibrant spirit and unwavering commitment to her family and community will be deeply missed.

Gabriella was born in Bronx, NY,  to Maria and Gary McGrath. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and pursued higher education at Edison College where she earned a degree in Nursing. Her passion for Nursing was evident in everything she did, and she made significant contributions to everyone she touched.

Gabriella was not only a dedicated professional but also a loving family member and friend. Gabriella was a devoted mother to Sofia Cartagena and took immense pride in her achievements and growth.

Gabriella is survived by her Daughter Sofia, her Parents Maria and Gary, siblings Brittany and Timothy, Grandparents Trudy, Bice and Ugo. Nieces, Nephew, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, god Children, and many friends who will forever cherish her memory and strive to honor her legacy.

A celebration of Gabriella's life will be held on Thursday 5/23 at 5:30pm at St. Bridget’s of Ireland, 278 Strawberry Hill. Here friends and family will gather to remember her remarkable life and bid her farewell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Shatter Proof (https://www.shatterproof.org/38986/in-lieu-of-flowers/gabriella-cartagena), an organization to help those battling addiction and substance abuse.

Gabriella D. Cartagena's life was a testament to the power of love, compassion, and community. She touched the lives of many and will be remembered with deep affection and respect. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Rest in peace, Gabriella. Your light will continue to shine in the lives of those you touched.
