Gary Francis Deleo

Gary DeLeo, beloved brother, and uncle, passed away on October 30, 2024.

He was born in Stamford, CT on October 26, 1960, and was predeceased by his parents, Marcelle and John DeLeo, and his nephew, Matthew DeLeo.

He is survived by his brothers, Jack (Susan), Tom, Ken (Kristen), and David (Darlene), and sister, Marie. Gary was a loving uncle to his nieces (Jackie, Tara, Lindsey, and Emily) and nephews (Jason, Matthew, Adam, Ryan, Jack & Jeff), his 11 great-nieces and great-nephews, and the multitude of friends’ children he loved who all called him Uncle Boo or Boo Boo.

His greatest joy came in spending time with all the kids over the years. Growing up in a very large extended family that included a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins, you had not only your siblings as best friends but also your many cousins. To this day Gary’s best friend was his cousin, Karen (Howley) Stankey. Our mom and Aunt Joy (Howley) always had a running family joke which has been “telephone, telegraph, or tell Gary.” As such, he was known as the “Daily News,” and would always regale one and all on the going on of family and friends. Gary most enjoyed spending Holidays and Sundays, known as Family Day, with his immediate and extended family as they were the heart of his life. He will be forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.

A Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of Gary's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, 1200 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. Interment will be private.
