George P. Festo

George Paul Festo, a beloved resident of Norwalk, CT, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, at the age of 81. Born in Stamford, CT, on July 15, 1943, George was the son of the late Frederick and Marie (Schiavello) Festo.

George was a devoted and loving father to George Festo Jr. and his companion Raya Beacom; Jordan Festo and his wife Elayn; and Tiffany Tokarchuk and her husband Paul. He was also the grandfather of three beloved grandchildren: Daniella, Natalia, and Alex.

George worked as a mailman and later became one of the co-owners of a restaurant called Ichabod’s with his brother Fred. He then went on to own Greenwich Car Color for many years and later worked as a salesman.

George is survived by his siblings: Frederick Festo Jr. and his wife Rita; Joseph Festo; and his sister Maria Bucci and her husband Ralph. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Liz Filmore for the loving care and support she provided to George in his later years.

George enjoyed bowling, baseball, collecting antiques, and golfing with his family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life during a visitation on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to12:00 p.m. at Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. A memorial service will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, 25 Camp Avenue, Darien, CT.
