Giovanni Tripodi

Giovanni Tripodi, passed away peacefully Friday, December 14, 2018. Giovanni was born in Villa San Giovanni, Reggio Calabria, Italy to Giuseppe and Felicia (Labate) Tripodi. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Joseph Tripodi as well as his brother Alberto Tripodi and sister Maria Tripodi Mendicino. Giovanni moved to the United States in 1970 and began to work at Pitney Bowes as a Machine Operator for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and had a passion for gardening and the outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Fortunata Tripodi, his daughter Felicia and husband Joseph Lofaro, and daughter in law Josephine Tripodi. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Peter Lofaro, John Lofaro and his wife Alexandra, Jessica Lofaro, John Tripodi, Fortunata Tripodi, and two great grandchildren Mila and Elena Lofaro Brothers Joseph Tripodi and wife Domenica, Alfredo Tripodi and wife Susana, and sister Antonia Tripodi and their families also survive him. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 18 from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Lacerenza Funeral Home in Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 19 at 9:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church in Stamford. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Greenwich. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association via alz.org.
