Giralda M. Sotomayor

Giralda Sotomayor, 74, a resident of Stamford, CT, passed away on April 4th, 2022 surrounded by family at home. Giralda was born on December 4th, 1947 in Checacupe, Cusco, Peru, the daughter of the late Bernardina Montiel and Marcelino Alvarez. Giralda, retired; worked for Greenwich Hospital for 45 years. She enjoyed music, dancing, movies, cooking, knitting, nature, hosting parties, gardening, travel and sightseeing. Giralda is survived by Edward Maldonado (Son), Bernadette Sotomayor (daughter), Vilma Zegarra, Luzgarda Alvarez (sisters), German Yucra, Walter Alvarez, Edwin Alvarez, Julio Alvarez (brothers), nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 15, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford.
