Gregory J. Sigler, 76, a resident of Cos Cob, CT for many years passed way peacefully on June 8, 2023 at Norwalk Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Greg was born on December 4, 1946 in Stamford, CT to the late Herman and Catherine Tiani Sigler. He attended St. Cecilia Elementary School where he was a member of the first graduating class. He graduated from Fairfield Preparatory School in 1964 and Sacred Heart University in 1969 with a BA in Business Administration. Upon graduating from college he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served for two years in Vietnam from 1970-1971. He was an Airborne Sensor Specialist and flew more than 200 reconnaissance missions in Vietnam and Laos. Greg worked as a sales representative in the telecommunications industry. He enjoyed watching football, visiting casinos, traveling to Ogunquit, Maine and his favorite island of Aruba. Greg was an active member of St. Maurice R.C. Church where he volunteered as a reader for many years. He was also a member of the OV-1 Mohawk Association.
Greg is survived by his two sons, Andru Sigler and Gregory T. Sigler of California, his sister Gail Curcio and her husband Steve, his brother S. William Sigler and his wife Linda, his sister-in-law Sheren Sigler and one grandchild, Jaden Sigler. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins and his beloved long time partner, Barbara Bateman. Greg was predeceased by his brother David Sigler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maurice R.C. Church, 358 Glenbrook Rd., Stamford, CT 06906. Following the Mass, he will be laid to rest with full military honors at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Darien, CT.
