Surrounded by her family, Inoncia Geneus peacefully passed away on Wednesday September, 6, 2023 at 94 years old. Inoncia, lovingly known as “Cia” by her family and friends was born in Petit Desdunes, Haiti on July 21st , 1929 to the late Sylvanie Vincent and Colas Charlestin. She was the fourth of five children. She married the late Germain Geneus on March 14, 1956. They had 4 beautiful children, 3 daughters and one son. Inoncia moved to the United States in 1986, and would constantly visit back home, which was very near and dear to her.
Inoncia was a beautiful soul and greatly influential to anyone she encountered. She was loving and kind with an infectious smile and contagious laugh. She was a woman that went above and beyond for her family. Inoncia was a determined business woman (Madan Sara) and a wonderful cook. Her tireless effort and devotion made her the natural matriarch, as well as second mother to many.
She will be truly missed.
Inoncia leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, JacquelineGabriel and her husband Joel Gabriel; Jean Geneus; Bernadette Casimir; step daughters, Gerline Mintor-Geneus; Syvila Geneus; Marlene Geneus; step-sons, Ronald Geneus; Blanc-Rodin Geneus; 29 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchidren; many nieces/nephews; grand-nieces/grand-nephews; cousins and friends. Inoncia was pre-deceased by her husband Germain Geneus; her daughter Marie-Lourde Geneus; her stepson Wilbert Geneus; stepdaughter, Mardelene Geneus; her parents, Sylvanie Vincent and Colas Charlestin; her sister Viergelesse Charlestin; her brothers, Augustin Charlestin; Saint-Jean Charlestin; and Saint-Pierre Charlestin.
Family welcomes all relatives and friends at 8:00 a.m on Friday, September 15,2023 at Lacerenza Macari Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. The funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m with Rev. Phillipe Jean-Baptiste officiating. Her burial will follow at Woodland Cemetary, 66 Woodland Place in Stamford CT.
