Jane DeAngelis Frattaroli, 93, of Stamford, Connecticut, and Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on New Year’s Day 2025.

Born May 22nd 1931 to the late Raphaela Moavero and Benjamin J. DeAngelis, Sr., of Stamford, Jane was a graduate of the Stamford High School class of 1949. In 1952 she married her husband of fifty-eight years, the envy of many a suitor, the late Joseph “Max” Frattaroli of Stamford, father to Jane’s four children.

The pretty little lady who could out-cheer any two pep-squads put together, for whom a brownie washed down with Kahlúa was a meal fit for a queen, whose sense of humor and infectious laugh were unrivaled, Jane enjoyed years of golf and tennis, swimming and painting, volunteer work and travel, Turner Classic Movies and the beach, bridge and lunch with the “gals,” countless ballgames, and one or two shopping excursions. Jane, who believed giving from the heart was a privilege, served as a long-time volunteer with Stamford’s former St. Joseph’s Hospital, including two years as president of that hospital’s Auxiliary. A grandmother in every way, Jane loved nothing more than when her family gathered to celebrate. Her favorite holiday was Halloween—when it wasn’t Christmas. Her favorite grandchild was…well, you would never be able to tell; she distributed her love equally, profusely, and with abundance. Each grandchild grew up believing (make that still argues) he or she, and only he or she, was Grandma Jane’s “sunshine.”

Jane is survived by her son Stephen Frattaroli of Stamford; her daughter Barbara Hickey and husband Paul Hickey of Stamford; her son Bob Frattaroli and wife Julie Frattaroli of Boston, Massachusetts; her daughter Carol Frattaroli and husband Patrick Francis of Stamford; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a niece and nephews and their families.

Beyond her late parents and husband, Jane was predeceased by her brother Benjamin J. DeAngelis, Jr., of Shelton, Connecticut, as well as by many in-laws, cousins and dear friends.

A memorial mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday January 7th at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave in Stamford. Burial will be private. The family will be receiving friends at the Italian Center, 1620 Newfield Ave in Stamford, 12 p.m. Tuesday, following the mass.

In lieu of flowers, please be so kind as to send donations in Jane’s name to the Fairfield County House for hospice care at 1 Den Rd, Stamford, CT, 06902. And please, as Jane would have you: take care of each other.
