Jean G. Mariano

Jean Mariano, a lifelong resident of Stamford went into the arms of the Lord on April 1st, 2025, at the age of 97. Jean was born on December 30, 1927, to the late Alfred and Nicolena (Conillio) Geregitano.

She enjoyed her life as a homemaker for her family and loved making a feast for all. Family and friends always popped in to add a little laughter their day. In addition to people, Jean also had a love for animals and loved every dog she met. She will be truly missed.

Jean is survived by her two children, Rocco Progano, III (Dani) and Marie Malwitz (Robert). Three granddaughters, Nicole Mason (Scott), Jennafer Progano (Scott) and Alexis Progano (Brandon). Along with nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Jean was predeceased by her first husband, the father of her children, Rocco Progano, Jr. and her second husband, John Mariano. Three brothers, Dominick Florenza (Phyliss), Anthony Geregitano (Jenny) and Albert Geregitano (Audrey). Two sisters, Vera Colabella (Louis) and Dora Gerardi (Dan).

Family and friends will be received on Monday, April 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave, Stamford, CT. A funeral mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave, Stamford, CT. Burial will be private.
