Jean Lalor (nee Sabia), a lifelong resident of Stamford, CT, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2023, surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. She was 83 years old.
Jean was born on October 2, 1940, in Stamford, CT; the daughter of the late William and Catherine Sabia.
Jean had a strong personality and left an indelible impression on everyone she met. She will be remembered for her love of cooking, music, and shopping; as well as her dedicated Catholic faith.
Jean was top student, graduating from Sacred Heart Academy in Stamford, CT in 1958. Jean married the love of her life, Tod Lalor on November 28, 1959. Jean worked various administrative roles in Stamford, including St. Leo Parish, Waldenbooks and The Stamford Advocate.
Jean was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as “Nonny” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jean is survived by her three children: Darci Gianokos; Todd Lalor, and his wife, Eileen; and Cathy Lueders and her husband, Matt; her five grandchildren: Brittany, Alana, Sabrina, Tyler, and Justin; three great- grandchildren: Audriana, Christiana and Gianni; her brother, Augie Sabia; and countless cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Tod Lalor.
Calling Hours will be conducted on Friday, December 1st at Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 from 9:00am to 11:00am; followed by a Mass Service at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 at 11:30am. Interment to follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, 399 North Street, Greenwich, Connecticut 06830.
