Joan Marie Nomack, 91, a life-long resident of Stamford Connecticut, passed away on September 4th, 2022 at Stamford Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.
Joan was born May 13th, 1931 in Stamford, to the late Anthony and Louise Persechino. She attended Stamford High School where she was a member of the choir and where she would meet the man who would become the love of her life, Michael Nomack. They were married for 44 years; it was a union of deep love, respect and friendship.
After graduating Stamford High in 1949, Joan began her career, first working in retail, then as a receptionist for Condé Nast. It was during this time that Joan and Michael married and began their lives together, sharing their love of life and helping others. They loved animals, both big and small and it was not unusual for Joan and Michael to open their home and hearts to a stray cat or two. Joan had much love to give; she was a mother to many and loved by all.
Joan was a tried and true Yankees fan who loved music, singing and crossword puzzles. She was actively involved, and took great joy, in planning high school reunions as a member of the reunion committee.
Joan is survived by her sister Barbara Stockwell. She is also survived by nephews Todd Stockwell, Raymond Wrixon, Michael Persechino, great-niece Ashley Stockwell and dear friend Veronica Feinstein and many nieces and nephews. Joan is predeceased by husband Michael Nomack and niece Jodi Stockwell.
