John G Mazza

John G. Mazza, 90, went home to be with the Lord on February 2018. He was born in Stamford on February 24, 1927 to the late Ernest and Catherine Mazza. John proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. John was a former, longtime employee of the Stamford Board of Education Maintenance Division. He was a carpenter by trade. Making people laugh was his greatest pleasure. He loved his family and was so proud to meet his two great-grandsons. John is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years Ann Iovino Mazza of Stamford, his loving daughter Annette Arthur and her husband Richard of Flower Mound, Texas, his granddaughter Jennifer Weant and her husband Austin of Fulshear, Texas, his grandson Christopher and his wife Megan of Trumbull, great grandsons Parker Weant and Nicholas Arthur, and his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his son John E. Mazza and sister Angela Raponi. The Mazza family would like to extend a special thank you to his family, friends and wonderful caregivers who helped love him to heaven. Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday February 20, 2018 from 6pm-8pm at Lacerenza Funeral Home 8 Schuyler Avenue in Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday February 21, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Gabriel Church 914 Newfield Avenue in Stamford. Interment will be at a later date.
