Joseph Caruso passed away peacefully on January 12, 2020, at 88 years of age. Joe was born on the West Side of Stamford, Connecticut on October 1, 1931, and was married to Angela Marie (Re Re) for the past 65 years. He graduated from Stamford High School in 1949 and worked at Conde Nast in Old Greenwich, Connecticut as an engraver. He served in the United States Army in 1952 during the Korean War and retired from the City of Norwalk working in the Mailroom. He resided in Norwalk for the past 45 years. Joe enjoyed playing poker with his friends at the club, and also had a passion for painting and drawing. He also had a love of music and played the accordion and piano. He was an avid reader as well. He made frequent visits to the library, where he read one book per day. He was a fan of the Mets and the Jets. He is pre-deceased by his Father, Thomas Caruso, and Mother, Marion Filardo Caruso, in addition to his brothers, Felix and Anthony Caruso, his Father in-law Joseph Guglielmo, his Mother in-law, Antionette Rello Guglielmo, and brother in-law, Joseph Guglielmo, Jr. (Jo Jo). He leaves behind his loving wife, Angela Marie Guglielmo Caruso, his brother, Thomas Caruso, his brother in-law, Frank Guglielmo, his daughter, JoAnn Caruso, his daughter, Linda Hegedus, his son in-law, Michael Hegedus, and his son, Joseph Caruso, Jr. he had four grandchildren; Joseph Caruso, III of Freemont, Nebraska, Jessica Caruso of Louisville, Kentucky, Elaine Hegedus of Stratford, Connecticut, and Thomas Dobensky of Wolcott, Connecticut. He also leaves behind his sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A mass will be held at a later date and will be announced. Donations in Joe’s memory can be made to Boys’ Town Village.
