June Howard Stivers was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She passed away unexpectedly on May 31, 2021 at age 86. She was born to Edwin and Dorothy Howard on July 2, 1934. After graduating from Simmons College with a degree in retailing and earning a master’s degree in adult education from Boston University, she worked as a buyer for Filene’s Department Stores and taught retailing at Mt. Ida Junior College. She also worked for her father’s engineering company. She was married to Jack Barresi, with whom she had two daughters, Nina and Ellen, and later to Everett Stivers. June loved spending time in the kitchen and entertaining family and friends. She was an avid ballroom and square dancer. She enjoyed going to the beach, camping, fishing and crabbing as she traveled the United States. When at home, she enjoyed crafting, painting and being part of the local women’s club. She is survived by her daughters, brother, Edwin Howard of Hamilton, MA, her grandson, Christopher Schultz of Acworth, GA, and several cousins, nephews, and a niece. A short graveside service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on July 2, 2021 at Milton Cemetery in Milton, MA. In lieu of flowers, please donate to either The Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital on her behalf.
