Laura (Bonafide) Burgess 1963 - 2022 While our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of our beloved mother, daughter, sister, and Aunt Laura, her love of family and life didn’t come to an end with her passing on June 23, 2022. Her bright smile and big heart left us too soon, but we will forever remember her unbounded love, warmth, and generosity. Born on March 17, 1963 to Joan and Robert T. Bonafide in Garden City, NY, she moved to Stamford, CT in 1970. She graduated from Stamford Catholic High School in 1981 and Fairfield University in 1985. Laura later had a successful career with Donnelly Marketing until her twins, Christina and Peter, arrived in 2000. Spirited, kind and thoughtful, Laura had many friends who shared her enthusiasm for laughter and new adventures. She loved to travel, camp, hike and ski when she wasn’t stealing away for an afternoon on the Sound in her boat. As a true “foodie”, she loved to cook and bake while entertaining family and friends. She also loved dogs, was an avid New York Mets fan and adored her nieces and nephews. But nothing filled her heart more than her twin children, “Chrissy” and “Burge”. Laura is survived by her devoted children, Christina and Peter, her father, Robert T. Bonafide, her brother, Robert M. Bonafide (Donna Bonafide), sister, Susan Skorvanek (Bill Skorvanek), brother, Steven Bonafide (Tracey Bonafide), and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Joan Bonafide. A wake will be held at Lacerenza Funeral Home at 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford on Monday, June 27 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. The funeral will be at St. Leo’s Church, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford, on Tuesday, June 28 at 10:30am.
