Madge Brown, age 77, of Stamford, CT passed away peacefully, surrounded by her three daughters, on February 17, 2024, at Stamford Hospital.

Madge was born, on December 14, 1946, to George and Brendolyn Hamilton of Regale, Portland, Jamaica. She spent her formative academic years at Cascade Elementary. Madge furthered her studies at Boxton High School, prior to migrating to the United States. Madge went on to graduate from the State University of New York at Old Westbury College with a Bachelor of Finance degree. Madge also attended New York University and obtained a paralegal certificate. After a successful career in investment banking, Madge retired to raise her three children and attend Seton Hall Law School.

Throughout her life, Madge was passionate about bible study. She was also interested in learning about other religions. Madge was raised as a Quaker in Jamaica, which had a profound impact on where she positioned herself when migrating to the United States. After moving from Westbury, NY to Danbury, CT, Madge adopted the Episcopalian tradition by joining St. James Episcopal Church in Danbury, CT.

Madge is survived by her three children, Coleen, Thalia, and Nadia. In addition to her children Madge is survived by her siblings Frederica, Madeline, Norbert, and Jean. (Madge was predeceased by her brother Horace). She also leaves behind her nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Madge will always be remembered for her kindness, empathy, and way with words. She was a gifted conversationalist, and great listener. Madge was particularly keen on literature, and education. Madge will also be remembered for her many talents and hobbies. Madge loved fashion, reading, writing, traveling, storytelling, art, and interior design. She also developed her talents in needlework, crochet, and embroidery. Moreover, Madge was a music enthusiast. She acquired an eclectic record collection of music, spanning from Bob Marley to Michael Jackson and Patti LaBelle.
