Marguerite A. Farfaglia, 89, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2024. Marguerite was born on June 13, 1934, in Stamford, CT and lived in Stamford her entire life. She was the daughter of the late Salvatore “Sessa” Iovino and Josephine “Jill” Buchetto Iovino. Marguerite attended Stamford schools and soon after met and married the love of her life Theodore "Ted" Farfaglia. They were married for sixty-nine years before his passing just one year ago. Lovingly known as "Me-ma" by her two granddaughters, she loved spending time with her family. She also loved the Yankees, reading and walking for miles each day down Cove Park. She was an animal lover and adored her late precious dog Tinkerbell. She also enjoyed feeding birds and eagerly awaited their visits every day, especially "red boy." Marguerite loved to travel the world. She looked forward to her vacations in Florida every winter. She was the first one on the beach and last one to leave. She was always seen with her big sunglasses on, and it didn't matter to her if it was nighttime either. She traveled to many islands, all over Europe and to London, England where her father was born.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she is also predeceased by a brother, who died as an infant. She is survived by her son Robert Farfaglia and his wife Elizabeth, her daughter Valerie Colletto and her husband Andrew, and two granddaughters Danielle Colletto and Noelle Colletto. Marguerite will be greatly missed but can now be reunited with her parents and the love of her life.
Thank you to the nurses and doctors on the 7th floor west of Stamford Hospital for their excellent care as well as Dr. Angela Pereira for her kindness, compassion and thoroughness and Dr. Sherry Ng for the comfort given to the family and most especially to Marguerite and thank you to the rehab facility at Nathaniel Witherell.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass at Holy Spirit Church, 403 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford, CT will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024, at 10:30 am. She will be buried in St. John's Cemetery, Darien alongside her husband and her parents.
