Pat F. Ambrosio, 94, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born July 31, 1923 in Stamford, CT son of the late Giovanni and Lucia Crocco Ambrosio. He was a resident of Waveny Care Center in New Canaan, CT, and was raised and educated in Stamford, graduated from Stamford High and J. M. Wright Technical School and went on to take courses in supervision and management from the American Management Association. Pat was a petty officer in the U.S. Navy Seabees serving in Okinawa, Japan during World War II. He worked for Manson Laboratories in Wilton, Connecticut where he was clerk of the works in construction of a 83,000 square foot plant. Upon completion became their Facilities Manager. He was also clerk of the works for Stelma in Stamford during construction of their 163,000-square foot plant and then stayed on as their Facilities Manager. He retired in 1986 from Barnes Engineering where he was Director of Facilities. While at Barnes he was a recipient of the Dr. R. Bowling Barnes Annual Achievement Award. He was also a past member of the American Institute of Plant Engineers. He was an avid golfer and avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. Predeceased by his loving wife of 67 year Mary LaMotta Ambrosio, a sister Josephine Suttile. Survived by his sister Vincetta (Vinnie) Sabia of Stamford, daughter Patricia Sileo (Daniel) of Stamford, son John Ambrosio (Robin) of Oxford, CT, grandchildren Jason, Kenneth (Kim) and Christopher Ambrosio and Marc (Kim) and Daniel, Jr. (Danielle) Sileo, great-grandchildren Nicholas, Joseph, Evan and Alaina Ambrosio and Kaylee, Marc Jr., Daniel III, Kaitlyn and Gianna Sileo. Many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday February 15, 2018 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church 37 Schuyler Avenue in Stamford. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien. In lieu of flowers family requests that donations to be made to a charity of one’s choice.
