Artist, Elvis Car Art Designer and Owner, Toy Company

Friend.

“It’s not how much you have that makes people look up to you, it’s

who you are.” – Elvis Presley

Phyllis Gaucher always spoke her truth whether it was through her one-of-a-kind

personality and dress or her big giving heart which she shared with all she met.

She was never pretentious or judgmental, accepting all just as they were. She

made the Elvis Week pilgrimage for many years so she could share her art and

stories. Her most favorite part of Elvis Week, however, was the candlelight

service which is held annually on the eve of Elvis’ death. She took great pride in

being one of the original initiators of this event. As her friend for many years, I

know Phyllis would not want us to mourn her death but rather celebrate her life. I

am choosing to believe that at this very moment she is sitting on a cloud and having

a conversation with Elvis.

To Paraphrase the Elvis Song “My Way”

She has loved, laughed and cried

She had her fails, her share of losing

And now as my tears subside

I find it all so amusing

To think she did all that

And may I say, it wasn’t in a shy way

Oh, no, no, not her

She did it her way!!!

Until we meet again in Heaven. Rest in Peace Dear Friend. I know I am a better

person for having known you. –Pat Coyle
