Richard David Angotta

March 24, 2025 - Richard David Angotta, 66, died suddenly, but peacefully in his sleep while vacationing in Venice, Italy. Born December 13, 1958, Richard was the fourth child of Lucy Grosso Angotta and Dominick Angotta (both deceased). He was born and raised in Stamford, Conn. before moving to Ridgefield, Conn. 27 years ago.

Richard graduated from Sacred Heart University in 1982, with a degree in accounting. He then worked for White Birch Paper for more than 30 years before retiring in 2021. An avid collector of curious things, Richard enjoyed traveling the United States and different countries abroad to search out new and interesting adventures. This last trip was one of many trips to Italy, and Venice was his favorite part. Richard’s other favorite hobby was visiting museums, and he thought nothing of hopping in the car to visit a new exhibit or a museum he had not heard of before on any given weekend. Richard enjoyed working at polling stations during local and presidential elections, discussing all things life and politics at Dunkin Donuts and Mini Coopers. Another project of Richard’s was volunteering at Meals on Wheels in Ridgefield, Conn. He believed that everyone deserved a hot meal.

Richard is predeceased by both his parents. He is survived by his siblings Anthony, Donna, Robert and Donald. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great nieces.

The wake will be held on April 14, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave, Stamford, CT followed by a graveside service at St. John Cemetery, 25 Camp Ave, Darien, CT.
