Robert DellaValle, or “Uncle Bob” as he was known to his many nieces and nephews, 92, a resident of Stamford CT, passed away Monday, August 16th, at Stamford Hospital. Bob, son of the late Emil and Theresa DellaValle, was born July 9, 1929 in Brooklyn NY, raised in Port Chester, NY, and settled in Stamford, CT. Bob attended Port Chester HS, then graduated from Rice University and served overseas during the Korean War (1952-54), followed by the Army Reserves, and received the National Defense Medal. Bob was an auditor at GE for 46 years, traveling across the globe. It was during his work at GE in Stamford that he met and married the love of his life, Frances (Cortese) DellaValle, who pre-deceased him in 2008. Bob loved working at GE, and was known for his 4am start to the day. He could be found daily at the Tully Center gym, working as an usher at St. Leo’s Church, or buying his lottery tickets. He spent his last years at his Stamford home, surrounded by family who cared for him. He will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his sister, Judith (DellaValle) Trepp of Stamford, his in-laws, Anna and Anthony Cortese, his nieces Kathy Trepp, Cheryl (Trepp) Moss, and Anna Cortese, his nephews, Douglas, Christopher, Gregory and Steven Trepp, and Anthony Cortese, as well as great nieces and nephews, Andrew, Sarah, Nicholas and William Trepp, Robert, Edward and Conrad Moss, Ryan Trepp, Jack, Sam, Meg and Maya Trepp, Colten, Morgan and Connor Trepp. The wake will be held at Lacerenza Funeral Home, Monday August 23rd from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass at St. Leo Parish at 10:30 a.m. and burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Rye Brook. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stamford EMS www.stamfordems.org/donate/ . The family wishes to thank his caregiver, Desiree Davis, and the first responders who helped him on many occasions.
