Robert F. Kryger, Sr. of Shelton, Connecticut passed away peacefully at home on May 19, 2018. He was 75 years old. Robert was born in Stamford, Connecticut on October 6, 1942. He was the son of Frank and Lena Kryger of Stamford, Connecticut. Robert attended Stamford public schools and graduated from J.M. Wright Technical School in 1960. He joined the Stamford Police Department in 1966 and served as a patrolman for 23 years. Upon his retirement from the Police Department, Robert was employed by the City of Stamford as a 911 Emergency Dispatcher for 19 years. Robert was a member of the Lacerenza Bocce Team. He also enjoyed golf, bowling and weekend vacations in Saratoga and Lake Luzerne, NY. Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Loretta Knoess Kryger, sons Robert, Jr. (Annette), Craig and daughter Rita Conlin (Richard) and his granddaughters Chelsea and Cassandra Kryger, and Victoria Conlin and his grandson Evan Kryger. Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday May 23, 2018 at Lacerenza Funeral Home 8 Schuyler Ave in Stamford from 4pm-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday May 24, 2018 at St. Joseph Church 85 S. Main Street in Norwalk at 10:30am. Burial will be private.
