Ugo DiMare, 91, of Stamford, CT, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, in Stamford, CT.

Born on April 2, 1933, in Minturno, Italy, Ugo was the beloved son of Vincenzo and Maria Civita DiMare. He was one of six children, with one brother and four sisters, all of whom he cherished deeply.

On December 8, 1962, Ugo embarked on a journey across the Atlantic Ocean to New York City with his wife, Bice, and their daughter, Maria. In the years that followed, his family grew with the birth of his daughter Sabrina on January 15, 1965, and the founding of DiMare Pastry Shop on May 8, 1976. The shop became not only a cornerstone of the Stamford and Greenwich communities but also a testament to Ugo’s unwavering dedication to his family and hard work.

Ugo’s greatest love was his family, and he spent countless hours in the business he built alongside them. His warmth, kindness, and steadfast commitment to those he loved left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.

Ugo is survived by his devoted wife of more than 60 years, Bice; his loving daughters, Sabrina and Maria; five grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also remembered fondly by his many dear friends. Ugo was predeceased by all of his siblings and his granddaughter Gabriella, whom he held close in his heart.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ugo’s life at a visitation on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT.
