Victor Cassone

Victor R. Cassone 90, of Milford, CT (formerly of Stamford and Port St. Lucie, Florida), died peacefully at his home on November 16, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Victor was born in Stamford, CT on December 12, 1931 to the late Domenico and Julia Cassone. Victor was a graduate of the Stamford High School Class of 1949 where he met the love of his life Mary Vartuli Cassone. Victor proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and then went to work at his father’s business and then took over as owner of Cassone’s Bakery of Stamford.

Victor was predeceased by his wife of 60 years Mary Cassone, his brothers Dr. Rocco Cassone, John, Vincent, Domenic and Michael and sister Nancy Cassone. He leaves behind his 6 children: Domenic and his wife Donna of Basking Ridge, NJ, Juliet Cassone Savignano of Shelton, CT and her partner Pervez Bamji of Ft. Lee, NJ, Ralph and his wife Wendy of Hillsboro Mile, FL, Attorney John Cassone and his wife Geralyn of Stamford, CT, Victor and his wife Stephanie of South Salem, NY, and Filomena Cassone Saxton and her husband Dean of Tucson, AZ. He also leaves behind his 20 cherished Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren as well as many loved nieces and nephews. He remained close to his wife’s siblings: Michael Vartuli, Frank Vartuli, Catherine Buchetto and Lucy Cardin.

Victor loved talking about his time in the Navy and was an avid tennis player. He enjoyed spending winters at his home in Florida with his family and friends. He was a long-time member of the Italian Center of Stamford, and enjoyed spending time at the Men’s Club there. We want to thank his wonderful aides, Kete and Irene, who took great care of him in his final years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien, CT.
