Vincenza Furano Coniglio of Stamford, CT passed away unexpectedly, but quietly in her sleep on November 12, 2022 at Stamford Hospital, surrounded by family.
Vinnie was born on February 25, 1942, the daughter of the late Roger and Mary Furano. She graduated from Mother of God Academy and later on in life, earned her bachelor's degree from Marymount College.
Vinnie worked as an office manager for several different organizations from coast to coast. She was a force of nature with her capable ways and brilliant mind.
Vinnie and John, her high school sweetheart, were married on November 11, 1961. Very much in love and inseparable, they would seek out adventures, and enjoyed a long and happy life together. They celebrated their 61st anniversary before she left this earthly world. In addition to her husband, Vinnie is survived by her three children Carmine Coniglio (Janet) of the Bronx, NY, Anne Marie Coniglio-Tedesco (Stephen) of Stamford, CT and Barbra Somoano of Champions Gate, FL as well as her five grandchildren Alex Somoano, Emery and Hannah Tedesco, and Veronica and Carmine John Coniglio. Her grandchildren were her world, and an endless source of happiness and pride. Additionally, Vinnie is survived by her three sisters Carmelita Minkler, Maryann Rockwood, and Toni Rose Pincince, sister-in-law Camille Coniglio and brother-in-law Jim Sabia, as well as many adored nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Vinnie is predeceased by her in-laws, Carmine and Anna Coniglio, sister-in-law Madeline Sabia and brothers-in-law James Rockwood and Gerard Pincince.
Everyone who knew Vinnie felt her big heart and fun loving nature. She will be missed by her grandchildren with whom she spent countless hours driving to activities, playing games, hanging out at the beach, grabbing a manicure or massage, and supporting their hobbies. Vinnie was passionate about travel and was always up for an adventure. Hopping in the car and “getting lost” with her husband was an endless source of joy. Together, they blazed many happy trails. Additionally she loved attending parties or grabbing a meal, so she could connect with those she loved and share in a cocktail or two.
Visitation will be held at Lacerenza Funeral Home, on Thursday, November 17 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, November 18 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church.
