Waldo (Freddy) Celis, 58, a longtime resident of Stamford passed away on May 31st at Stamford Hospital. Freddy was born on April 4, 1962 in Guatemala, the son of the predeceased Miguel and Ana Celis. He is survived by Sherry Celis (wife), Amy and Bobby Fanti (Daughter & Son in law), Christine Foster (Mother in law) Mike, Cisco, Brenda (siblings), Larry, Jimmy, John (brother in law’s), Sherri, Mary Beth, Michelle, Marissa (Sister in Law’s) and many nieces and nephews. Freddy was a devoted and amazing husband for 35 years, with Sherry for 10 years before that. Partners in crime since they were teens and very much in love. We are so lucky that they were blessed enough to meet each other so young and have so much time together. Freddy was also the perfect dad throughout every stage of Amy’s life. As an only child, he was also her best friend. Amy was married last June, and Freddy got to give his baby girl away and experience the beautiful day with friends and family. Freddy was loved by everyone who met him. A fun, caring man who always had a story to tell about something. He loved life, his friends, and his family. He enjoyed cooking which he learned early on in childhood and loved spending time in the kitchen with Sherry. He loved nights in the backyard playing dominos with Sherri, Lindsey and Jason and sharing a cigar with his son in law. On behalf of the Celis family, we would like to express our deepest appreciation and sincere thanks to all our family and friends for the love and support we have received during this difficult time. Freddy will be greatly missed. “Your candle burned out long before, your legend ever did”
